Volunteering in Buenos Aires - #WECONNECT
We are looking for volunteers to join the Volunteer Refugee Programme affiliated with Courconnect and Argentina Exchange.
At Courconnect our mission is to bring cultures together and connect people through language. Working alongside Argentina Exchange -a service provider and consultancy for foreigners that arrive in Buenos Aires- we understand that the primary and principal barrier for those that arrive at a new place is the LANGUAGE. We think that refugees are perhaps the most affected as they are the ones that have been forced to leave their homes, arriving at a new destination with a completely different culture from their own.
The Refugee Programme is aimed at helping refugees from non Spanish-speaking countries; principally those from Syria, Turkey, Haiti and Senegal.
Principal objectives of the programme:
· Create and offer subsidised Spanish courses to refugees in our partner schools.
· Develop activities to help integrate with locals and bring better understanding of Argentine life.
· Develop a cultural ‘integration day’ for refugee families
TASKS:
There are loads of ways to get involved with our project, from strategic planning, management and coordination of activities, graphic design, broadcasting of the programme on social media, media and general press. Creation of activities and raising funding. The idea is to work together and as a team bring the project to fruition.
PROFILE OF OUR IDEAL VOLUNTEER:
The ideal candidate is someone with an open mind, with an interest in the cause and an understanding of other cultures. A person that infects the team with positive energy; that is proactive, creative and reliable, with the capacity to work both within a team as well as independently.
REQUIREMENTS:
Argentinian or Foreigner, perfect English and advanced Spanish.
Willing to commit at least 9 hours a week for a minimum period of one month
WORK:
They will attend three weekly volunteer meetings in the offices in Palermo Soho. The minimum attendance is one weekly meeting and to commit to completing the tasks that are assigned to each team member. Those that have more time available are able to collaborate with the project Monday to Friday from the office.

Buscamos personas voluntarias para sumarse al Programa de Voluntarios de Courconnect y Argentina Exchange.
En Courconnect nuestra misión es acercar las culturas y conectar las personas a través del idioma, junto con Argentina Exchange una empresa servicios y asesoría para extranjeros que llegan a Buenos Aires, entendemos que la primer y principal barrera para quien llega a un nuevo destino es el IDIOMA y pensamos en los refugiados son los más afectados ya que han dejado sus hogares por la fuerza y llegan a un destino con una cultura muy diferente a la de ellos.
El programa Refugiados está destinado a ayudar a refugiados de los países no hispanohablantes, principalmente son de Siria, Turquía, Haití y Senegal.
Principales objetivos del programa:
Conseguir y ofrecer cursos de español bonificados para refugiados en nuestras escuelas partner.
Desarrollar actividades de integración con locales y la vida en Argentina.
Desarrollo de día de integración cultural para familias de refugiados.
TAREAS:
Existen muchas formas de sumarse al proyecto, desde la planeación estratégica, la gestión y coordinación de actividades, diseño gráfico, difusión del programa en social media, medios y prensa en general. La creación de actividades y búsqued2a de fondos. La idea es juntarse y juntos buscar sumar a este proyecto.
PERFIL DE VOLUNTARIO IDEAL:
El candidato ideal es una persona abierta de mente, con interés en la causa y el acercamiento de las culturas. Persona con energía positiva para contagiar al equipo, pro-activa, creativa y responsable, con capacidad de trabajo tanto en equipo, como de manera independiente.
Requisitos:
Argentino o Extranjero, perfecto dominio del inglés y español avanzado.
Compromiso mínimo de 9 horas por semana por periodo mínimo de 1 mes.
TRABAJO:
Se llevarán 3 reuniones de voluntarios semanales en las oficinas de Palermo Soho. Es requisito mínimo atender a una reunión semanal y comprometerse a cumplir con las tareas que se asignen a cada participante. Aquellos que tengan mayor disponibilidad podrán colaborar de Lunes a Viernes con el proyecto desde las oficinas.
